The Jammin Divas’ (USA) Australian Tour 2014
“The Jammin Divas’, who are Aoife Clancy (IRE). Nicole Zuratis (USA), Kath Buckell (AUS) and Hadar Noiberg (ISR) undertake their first Australian tour from February 12 – March 11, 2014.
Since coming together some three years ago in New York, the group has flourished performing across the USA and Canada.
Their music represents a ‘sharing’ of their cultural inheritances through traditional and contemporary song in multiple musical genres.
“While each of these talented women is individually recognized as an accomplished player and vocalist, it is their combined artistry that creates an unparalleled musical dynamic” – 2011 The Standard Times NY.
Aoife Clancy, is daughter and niece of the famous Clancy Brothers (IRE) and in her own right a recognized International artist and GRAMMY NOMINEE. In 1995 she joined the acclaimed group, ‘Cherish the Ladies” which is one of the most sought-after Irish American groups in history. She has toured with artists including, The Clancy Brothers, Christy Moore, the Paddy Noonan Show and many others. Her annual tour dates number over two hundred performances in the US, Ireland and Europe. She has been a featured soloist with the Boston and Cincinatti Pops and has clearly established herself as one of ‘Divas” of Irish and contemporary folk music.
Nicole Zuratis, Singer/songwriter and pianist Nicole Zuraitis has been turning heads with her huge voice and catchy melodies since she returned to New York in 2009 as Suzanne Lorge from ALL ABOUT JAZZ recognized her as “…the big-voiced, well schooled singer”. She reflects a broad mixture of jazz, pop, r&b and indie fusion where she bridges the gap between genres and unleashing her unparalleled vocals. Having recently returned from a tour of Asia and India, she shared the stage with the extraordinary Jane Monheit for the performance of “Jane Monheit and the Ladies of Jazz”. She recently was recognized as a finalist in the 2013 Songdoor International Songwriting Contest, as well as selected for the 2013 New York City Battle of the Boroughs Competition. Nicole has opened for jazz legend Dave Brubeck, as well as “the Platters”.
Kath Buckell is a rising Folk/Rock artist in the USA who has already won honourable mention at the Mid Atlantic Song Contest for her song ‘Orphaned by the Color of My Skin’ along with national radio coverage that gave astonishing reviews for her new record. She has toured Israel, Europe and now the USA. She has found her roots in a project called ‘Faces Do Not Change’ that is preserving traditional Australian poetry put to her original music.
