Kira Janowsky & Bruce Watson Trio – Friday 8th November
A double header tonight
Bruce Watson Trio
Joyful, hilarious, thought provoking, totally engaging original songs from one of Australia’s best songwriters and performers. Bruce an icon of the Australian folk scene – a masterful craftsman of songs and story weaver. Back from international tours of the UK & NZ, he is joined by the scintillating fiddle of Caitlin French and the exquisite cello of Hugh Belfrage.
Bruce is a major Australian songwriter and performer in the folk tradition. Based in Melbourne, he performs around Australia and internationally at festivals, clubs and other venues.
His performances are joyful and thoroughly engaging, with witty lyrics and energetic presentation, but also the power to move audiences to tears. He is a masterful craftsman of songs, be they evocative and heart wrenching, or side-splittingly funny.
“An Australian folk hero!” (The Boite). “The best songwriter I have seen in a long time.” (Eric Bogle)
