And just like that, we are finally back opening the year with a fine concert from Khristian Mizzi & Michael Waugh performing in the round  with Jacob McGuffie accompanying  where needed

I dont know about you but I have missed this…

Here are the bios of our opening acts

More than just a few have said with enthusiasm that Khristian Mizzi’s songs take them to a place they’d forgotten in themselves. With a warm, lilting voice and an art for weaving beauty and truth into the words of each song, Khristian Mizzi reaches the hearts of his audiences. His performances have been described as being ‘captivating’, leaving listeners feeling they have experienced something special.

Poetic lyrics, meandering melodies and a voice like a big warm hug along with a unique picking style, Mizzi really is a complete artist and is becoming renowned for his intimate performances and thoughtful songs.

Khristian Mizzi  fast became a favourite amongst our supporters and Folk Music fans throughout Australia. In 2017 he was awarded the ‘Troubadour Artist’ of the year award at The Newstead Live! Folk Festival. More recently, he has performed as the headline act at various Regional Concert Halls, House Concerts and has performed at numerous festivals around the country where he continues to captivate capacity audiences.

His songs have had an overwhelming public response which continues to grow.

Michael Waugh

Michael Waugh’s insightful tributes to friends, family and parenthood are simultaneously deeply personal and nationally recognisable; we see our own brothers, parents, pubs, rivers, struggles and joys reflected in the faces of those characters who live large in Michael’s songs.

Michael is a songwriter’s songwriter, a compelling live performer and an extraordinary storyteller. Among his admirers are the legendary Eric Bogle, alt. country luminary Shane Nicholson and country hitmakers The Wolfe Bros. His latest album The Weir received two Golden Guitar nominations in 2020 – Male Artist of the Year and Alt Country Album of the Year – as well as a nomination at the 2020 Victorian Music Awards.

This is the best way I can think to start the year and get the show on the road as they say. The room is capped at 55 people so don’t delay.
