Hosted by Andrew Pattison – this star-studded concert is the Melbourne launch for the Festival Folk Sing Gordon Lightfoot CD, which will be (was) released at The National Folk Festival on Easter Sunday.
All of the seventeen songs from the CD will be performed, plus several other great songs penned by the superb Lightfoot, one of the greatest ever talents to emerge in the 1960’s and ’70s singer-songwriter boom. And at age 78 he is still touring, playing approximately forty concerts a year across Canada and the USA, and is about to embark on his first UK tour for many years.
You’ll enjoy classic songs such as If You Could Read My Mind, Early Morning Rain, Sundown and For Lovin’ Me, performed by the cream of our contemporary folk scene, including Greg Champion, Joe Dolce, Liz Frencham, Suzette Herft, Rod McCormack, Enda Kenny, Penny Larkins, and Cliff Ellery with his Folkus friends.
All proceeds from the sales of the CD go to Troubadour Foundation, a charity that exists to encourage and support Australian folk.
Put this in your diary – it looks like being a great night
