Last one of the year…

Every second Tuesday of the month we have a lovely music session at Hardiman’s Pub in Kensington. It’s a round robin of swapped songs, some original, some sing along, some just amazing when a dozen voices are joined in harmony. In fact we’re having a session on Tuesday 13th if you want to come along. We’ll be in the back room near the kitchen!!

The Christmas session at Albert Park Port Lounge Friday week (December 9th) will be a great end to the year. You owe it to yourself to come along and see what local musicians can do.
Here are your talented, wonderful performers!
leahmaeLeah Mae – our wonderful discovery – a very talented young woman who deserves a wider audience ..
In her own words…

Leah Mae has been playing guitar with her mouth open since she was very small. Her music as “warm acoustic folk with touches of jazz influence”. She can be found haunting open mic nights around Melbourne, accompanied by numerous empty tea cups and self-deprecating humour.

daylealisonwalkerDayle Alison Walker is a gifted singer songwriter who has been “retired” for some years now but in the last few years has found a new lease on musical life. Her 2014 Album “Sanctuary” is a collection of original songs ranging in mood from country to jazz/blues. Dayle’s music will be an important part of the show

Tom Bolton. A lovely man, smooth singer, great repertoire of songs (original and covers), we love listening to him sing and play – you will too.

Jimmy Fong – what a delight!! Apart from authentic versions of John Denver songs, his repertoire of originals and covers delight us at the pub most months. Jimmy is a joy to listen to.

Brian (Boom Boom) Norris. There’s always a funny man in the group. Full of jokes and good humour, Brian has been playing bass and guitar, not to mention (I said don’t mention the .) Ukulele. He is my friend of 35 years, and we have shared many a stage. Worth coming to the gig just to see Brian in action!

Cathy Spillane! Another friend of some 30 years. An amazing entertainer, specializing in early childhood, an active professional. A brilliant voice. Cathy is a must-have for our music sessions!!

Cliff Ellery (yours truly) convenes and has run Albert Park Port Lounge concerts for 15 years so far. I like to jam with my friends and have fun with music. Being self-indulgent I reckon if the boss can’t get a gig what’s the world coming to??

Greg Champion – ’nuff said!! Famous (or infamous!) in sporting circles, a well known raconteur and writer of Melbourne songs. I don’t think we need to elaborate – Greg IS a Champion!!

It will be a ripper night

Thank you all for your support this year and  we are planning an even better one for 2017
