So did you hear the one about the Irishman from Melbourne with the fiddle player from Wollongong? No joke! Despite living over 700km apart as the kookaburra flies, these two guys have become one of Australia’s favourite festival acts and are now touring full-time with their music as they feature songs from Heart Tattoo, their seventh studio recording together.
“Great songs and unfussy tunes that hang upon the words like well-made clothes” George Papavgeris
Enda and Lindsay are no strangers to overseas audiences and have made several tours to the UK, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Their swag of awards include the Port Fairy songwriting award (twice) and Folk Alliance Australia’s Album of the Year for Here and There. Enda’s song Language of the Land was recorded by Roy Bailey among others and his story of migration Child of Prague has recently been translated and recorded in the Czech Republic by Pavel Pokorny.
Their concerts are always lively and engaging affairs, with thoughtful, descriptive songs that hook you in and have you following the stories and singing along before you know it.
The wicked Irish sense of humour is perfectly complemented by superb accompaniment on mandolin and fiddle and you get the sense that they love making music together.
“Enda’s song’s get right to the heart of the Australian experience and accompanists don’t come any better than Lindsay Martin” Fairbridge Festival WA
