Alanna & Alicia have toured the Australian festival circuit from Fairbridge to Port Fairy, captivating audiences with their original folky/ jazz/ roots songs, sweet harmonies, and onstage warmth, wit and fun. Both are gifted songwriters who have won awards at the national level, and their lyrics, equal parts heart and humour, sparkle with an original, intimate voice.
As identical twins, they have a rich, intuitive vocal blend, creating the kind of magical close harmonies that are unique to siblings. Think The Waifs, The Andrews Sisters.
They will sing songs from their most recent album, the beautiful ‘Songs I’m Singing with Me,’ a tribute to Australian troubadour, John Beavis and named in the National Folk Festival’s Best Albums of 2017.
They will also sing from their stunning back catalogue including ‘Twinlines’ 2013, ‘Two in a Book’ 2010 and their debut album,‘Funny She’s So Much Like Me’.
‘deliciously idiosyncratic and saucy songs…wry, frank observations of life and love…quality quirky lyrics delivered with verve and the kind of close harmonies you’d expect from sisters.’
Tony Hillier, Rhythms Magazine
and lets end on another quote
‘In concert they are entertaining and lively characters with an unpredictable, unscripted natural humour inspired by close observations and wry story telling. They are brimming with talent, a free spirit and endearing charm’.
Jamie McKew, Festival Director, Port Fairy Folk Festival (1977 – 2015)
These women are fabulous. I was first attracted to them as they played some of the songs of John Beavis, a legendary performer singer-songwriter I met during my early days at the Troubadour. We have asked John to come along if he can as our special guest (fingers crossed).
If our first show this year was anything to go by don’t mess around and give me a call to book.
Remember: The room is capped at 55 people so don’t delay.
