Suzette Herft and Patrick Evans are a unique blend of modern Australian Folk. Suzette, with her touch of exotic spice from Sri Lanka, the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’, joins with Patrick, the quintessential Australian songwriter from the Victorian Country coastline. Suzette grew singing to her father’s classic country collection, and was influenced heavily by the American Songwriter Troubadours, playing at various folk venues and festivals around Australia. Patrick is well known for his songwriting and work in various Celtic bands including Fiddlestix, Pure Genius and The Wrenboys, as well as being a sought after guitarist and fiddle player for well known Australian artists. This duo is more than the sum of two individually talented artists, who have found that together, they can meld their different influences and love of the same music with their passion for songwriting, creating their own luscious blend of harmony and modern Australian Folk.

Joan Baez/Bob Dylan – “Farewell Angelina”

The iconic duo of the 60’s folk era, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan, wowed audiences with their live duets. In 1963, as the reigning ‘Queen of Folk’, Joan’s endorsement of the promising young songwriter played a huge role in Dylan’s early rise to fame. Dylan states “…something told me she was my counterpart, that she was the one my voice would find perfect harmony with…” (Chronicles Vol. 1). Suzette is well known for and has previously received many accolades for her outstanding tribute show to Joan Baez – ‘Shining – A Diamond in the Rust’, which received a rousing standing ovation at The Port Fairy Folk Festival in 2014.

Join Suzette Herft and Patrick Evans as they recreate the magic of this iconic folk duo that earned a place in our hearts and psyche and in our musical history.

New CD release: Suzette and Patrick will be launching their live studio album featuring the songs from ‘Farewell Angelina’ at the 2015 Port Fairy Folk Festival.
